Beosound 35Bang & Olufsen

The new Bang & Olufsen Beosound 35 amplified speaker is so much more than its description and size would indicate. B&O accurately sums it up as “rich, bold sound from a bold performer”.

While the 39” x 5” x 5” chassis is sleek and unassuming enough to fit into any room’s decor, it can’t help but stand out with luxury-quality B&O materials and craftsmanship. The extruded aluminum body is polished and anodized for many years of sound enjoyment and beauty, with a simple discreet but powerful OLED touch control panel and black fabric grille. Placement is flexible, allowing high- or low-wall mounting or use with a table stand.

In keeping with the simplicity of its’ looks the Beosound 35 is equally simple to use. From the touch panel, a B&O remote or a mobile device equipped with the free Beomusic app, you can control sources, tracks, volume and station for just the 35 or your whole B&O multi-room system.

You can access a number of online music services such as SpotifyConnect, Deezer and TuneIn, with millions of songs, playlists and internet radio stations, but you can also use it as a high-quality TV sound system in just one room with the option of streaming those services when you’re not viewing. Connections include WiFi, WLAN, BlueTooth, Ethernet and Optical as well as an auxiliary analog input. Software updates are automatic.

The Beosound 35 is easy to use with third party equipment, too, as it has both optical digital and RCA analog inputs.

Four inboard 80W class D digital amplifiers deliver clean, cool power to the two 4” bass drivers and two 3/4” tweeters. The integrity and solidity provided by the 35’s chassis enable it to deliver an amazing amount of top-quality sound from a beautiful sleek package.

BeoLab 90

If a company is good enough to last 90 years it should celebrate. Bang & Olufsen has given themselves and us a wonderful 90th birthday present in the BeoLab 90 powered speaker system. The BeoLab 90 is the result of years of design and engineering teams working with listening panels to produce a truly groundbreaking piece of technology which is also art. The BeoLab 90 may join decades of other B&O designs, in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art.

This beauty is no shrinking violet at a hefty 50”x29”x29” and 306 lbs., but it uses that size to produce brute power and gorgeous sound the likes of which has very few competitors. The power comes from 18 speakers in each chassis, each with its own matched inboard amplifier, for a total power of 8,200 watts. While the 90’s size may sound imposing, think of the space which would be taken up by that many separate amplifiers producing equal power, each with its nest of cables and impressive cost. Matching each individual speaker with its own amp produces sound dividends. The individual tailoring, measurement and smooth integration of multiple pieces working together gives breathtaking performance and sound accuracy while creating an exact match to your environment for a truly involving listening experience. This unified and elegant approach to reproduction adds realism to the striking good looks and simplicity which are Bang & Olufsen trademarks.

Active Room Compensation

Whether you know it or not, the listening environment is the largest single component in your sound system. The room’s effects on what you hear are improved by the BeoLab 90’s Active Room Compensation, which changes the speaker’s performance characteristics based on the room’s size and configuration, the speaker’s position in the room and even the placement of furniture.

Most people don’t sit or stand and to music listen in one spot all the time. Beam Width Control allows users to adjust where the speaker places sound, whether for individual “sweet spots” or for broad sound distribution for parties and entertaining.

Beam Direction Control is another very useful tool, allowing users to steer sound in five different directions. This helps correct room acoustic problems and the inevitable conflicts between the multiple speakers in a surround system. Both Beam Width and Beam Direction can be easily controlled with a single touch, using the free B&O app for smart devices.

B&O CEO Tue Mantoni summed it up this way: “BeoLab 90 is the future of sound. This intelligent loudspeaker measures the acoustical effects of its surroundings and directs superb sound to your favorite listening position. You do not have to be close to the speaker or even in front of it to get an excellent sound experience.”

Striking looks, vast power, adaptability, simplicity and stunning sound make the BeoLab 90 a genuine technological breakthrough in the Bang & 0lufsen tradition. For more information or to book a demonstration please contact Watt Integration.
